Let's start with what we are NOT!
We are NOT choreographers. While movement and being comfortable onstage is important, most people do NOT need choreography.
We are NOT drama or acting coaches. This is NOT acting!
We are NOT dance instructors, and we are NOT vocal instructors.
Why should I work with a performance coach or live music producer?
It's the most hands-on, effective, immediate way to see big changes in your show.
Working with you and your material directly, our coaches are actually live concert producers and will help you put together the kind of show you've always wanted, and the kind of show that the audience will talk about for years to come. Got a tour coming up? Entering a competition or doing a showcase? Don't waste these opportunities to put your best foot forward.
Recently we worked with a Canadian band signed to a major label, preparing to make their debut in the States. We spent 2 days on the 3-song set they would be doing at a series of festival dates. Here's what they had to say after their first weekend out:
"We've always been a really good live band, but for our first major tour we decided to get performance coaching to see if we cuold be even better. The changes had a huge effect! The show is more entertaining, and we're doing a much better job of connecting with our audiences. Additionally, we're selling more merch than ever, and when our record company saw the show they loved it and can't wait to put us on the road again!"

We ARE...
Trained and gifted in the "craft" of connecting people onstage with their audience. We understand "the artist," their passion, artistry, and style, and how to help them communicate in a unique way.
We understand "the audience," the 3 reasons why people go to a concert, event, show, etc....we run everything through a grid that asks:
1. Does this capture and engage people?
2. Are we creating "moments" or just playing music?
3. Are lives effected or changed?
A great show always meets or exceeds the audience's expectations. We help you do that without compromising who you are as an artist or your message.
We analyze an artist's live performance and provide specific and personal guidance in two areas:
1. Developing an artist's personal skills onstage: movement, speaking, timing, solos, cutoffs, confidence, and so much more.....
2. We also help you produce a final product. Whether it's a show, showcase, tour, or a CD release, we help you get ready...everything from the psychology of a show, arrangement of songs, order of songs, creating diverse moments, transitions, what to say and where to say it, creating pressure changes on the audience, and more.
A great show is a combination of spontaneity and form.
One of our beliefs is that all the the things artists invest time, energy and money in is so they can play onstage. The reason we buy equipment, go to the studio, write songs, learn to play and sing, promote on radio, web, retail, look for management, contact record companies, look for someone to book us...... is so we can play our music live in front of people. We are qualified, have a passion, and know how to help you make the most of being onstage when that happens.
How do I know which performance coach to book ?
We'll help you with that. We can match you with the right person according to your budget, location and other factors. We'll talk to you by phone first (or meet you if you're near one of the coaches) to find out all we can about you or your band, and then suggest some options. All of the coaches will travel, so we can either come to you, or you can come to Nashville, Seattle, or Toronto.
Here's a brief breakdown of our rates: (*expenses are not included in these figures.)
Ali Anderson - A coach for 8 years (based in Seattle, WA)
Amy Wolter - A coach for 3 years (based in Nashville, TN)
Kevin Pauls - A coach for 3 years (based in Toronto, Ontario)
Tom Jackson - He, of course, is the best -- but expensive. If you can afford him, get him! 20 years experience doing live concert production (based in Nashville, TN)
*Additional costs would include airfare, lodging, meals, and car rental (if needed). You are responsible for providing a venue in which to work. We'll need a place with a decent size stage area and a sound system. If you come to where WE are, we can help you with some local options for rehearsal halls.
To book or read up on our coaches, click on their name. You'll find their bio and be able to read comments from some artists who have had the chance to work with them. At the bottom of their page, you can fill out an inquiry and receive a call from the coach to get to know who you are, and to figure out the best approach for you to take. There's no commitment at this point...all we're doing is assessing where you are as an artist. We may recommend watching the DVD series first or attending a TJP workshop. Maybe cost is a concern and a video critique is more in line with your budget. In any case, we want you to make the best decision for your act.
